Darcy Sharpe Wins the Silver Medal in Slopestyle as Snowboard Junior World Championships

Local snowboarder, and VIMSS funded athlete, Darcy Sharpe is bringing home silver from the 2012 FIS Snowboard Junior World Championships in Sierra Nevada, Spain.

Sharpe from Comox, BC, had a strong run to win the silver medal with 288 points. Italy's Marco Grigiswon with 360 points and American Brandon Davis took bronze with 216 points. Sharpe was the youngest competitor on the podium.

The Slopestyle competition closed out the championships with the biggest Canadian delegation of the week on hand.  On the women’s side, Natalie Allport from Ottawa, ON, was the top Canadian, finishing in 9th place with a score of 50.00.
